The Reed House at Live Oaks Summer Wedding

Bold colors were the main feature of Lauren and Luke’s summer brunch wedding at The Reed House at Live Oaks in Jackson, Mississippi. This beautiful wedding Featured in Wedding Sparrow highlights the 250 year old oak trees, bold color design and beautiful attention to detail of this beautiful wedding day.

Lauren and Luke tied the knot in front of their closest family and friends, celebrating afterwards with a classic southern brunch of shrimp and grits, frittata, chicken and waffles, scones, candied bacon and plenty of brunch styled cocktails. The oak trees and summer color palette of pinks, fuchsias, oranges and blushes in contrast with the vibrant green of the oak trees made for the most vibrant wedding photographs.

Wedding Planner, Lauren Messina, from LGM Weddings tells us more about: “Lauren and Luke’s wedding was a perfect reflection of them. From the intimate ceremony to the jazzy brunch reception, everything was perfect. It was a lovely summer morning at The Reed House with close family friends and family and bright florals provided by Bellini Blooms. The classic brunch spread was complemented with a Bloody Mary and Mimosas bar that guests raved over! The music was provided by Jackson’s favorite blues band, Patrick Harkins, based in Fondren Mississippi.”

The thing that made this wedding a standout as a photographer was that it went against traditional wedding norms. This was a Sunday Brunch Wedding which meant portraits began at 9am with bridals and first looks and the ceremony began at 11am. The brunch reception was over by 4pm. Having beautiful light throughout the day allowed for my partner and I to photograph primarily on film and were given the wiggle room to be creative with our photographs.
